The 10th Annual Live Well Advance Conference & School Summit brought nearly 2,000 educational partners together in an all-day event at the San Diego Convention Center to network, learn about new tools and best practices, and participate in breakout sessions. Leaders from every sector come together to participate in efforts to advance our shared vision of a healthy, safe, and thriving San Diego region. More than 70 partner organization booths and 39 breakout sessions provided attendees with countless opportunities to network and share best practices.
The SDCOE Community Schools Team facilitated several breakout sessions at Summit. The morning began with the Superintendents breakfast, which brought together educational leaders throughout San Diego County. The SDCOE community schools team and HHSA agency partners facilitated the Functional Integration for Thriving Communities breakout session for educational leaders. The purpose of the session was to unite superintendents and HHSA leaders in a collaborative dialogue that celebrates successful partnerships, addresses shared challenges, and shaped a collective vision for thriving schools and communities. In the workshop, participants built on this dialogue to identify needs, surface barriers, and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration.
Additionally, SDCOE community school team members facilitated the following breakout sessions throughout the day:
- Key Attendance Strategies to Improve School Outcomes facilitated by Dr. Monica Loyce, SDCOE, and Karena Haro-Esparza, Feaster Charter School
- Getting Started with Community Schools: Strategy, Partnership, Structure, and Impact, facilitated by Karin Giron, SDCOE, Aronn Peterson, SDCOE, and Sarah Glass, County of San Diego HHSA
- Creating Spaces of Belonging Through Expanded Learning, facilitated by Davina Hale, SDCOE, and Liza Flowers, SDCOE
