Mi Escuelita is a therapeutic preschool located in Chula Vista that provides wraparound, supportive services for children and families with the goal of empowerment and self-sufficiency. The preschool serves families with children ages 2-5 years old, who have been exposed to trauma or experienced serious risk factors combined with family instability or safety threats. In addition, they partner with local elementary school to facilitate the transition from preschool to Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
The school’s hours of operation are from Monday t0 Thursday from 8:30 a.m.to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Services provided by Mi Escuelita include:
- Free, full-time child care with a year-round program
- therapeutic curriculum
- wraparound services
- Parent/Caregiver workshops
- Bilingual staff
The preschool program design has recently been updated to broaden eligibility and currently enrolling. Families can be referred by completing a short form or calling Mi Escuelita at 619-869-6650 or 619-420-0116. Families with additional childcare needs can be referred to the YMCA Child Care Referral Line at 1-800-481-2151 or email to myreferral@ymcasd.org.
